Translation automation in EU technology projects
In the past 5 years, language technologies have been supported with 150 million EUR in EU technology programmes. The objective is to create a single online market without language barriers, and to facilitate communication, collaborative work and automatic information analysis across language barriers. The supported technologies are mostly language-independent. The presentation will outline novel translation technologies developed in EU projects (for example, machine translation, computer-aided translation, website localization, terminology support), and indicate how LSPs and translators can contribute to and benefit from the results of the projects.
