Katya has been in the translation business for 8 years, and 6 of those years she has been translating for hotels, airlines, jewelers, restaurants, etc. The choice of specialty areas has been predetermined by her previous work experience as a sales manager in a hotel and her life-long passions. Katya has been speaking regularly at conferences and webinars for translators (alone and together with Joseph Kovalov). In 2013, she saw her first literary translation published (The Stone Angel by M. Laurence).
